Kasope Turns a Personal Prayer Into New Gospel Single “Bámiṣé”
British-Nigerian gospel singer and songwriter Kasope has released “Bámiṣé (Do It for Me),” a heartfelt song shaped by faith, grief and complete dependence on God.
“Bámiṣé” captures the vulnerable experience of turning to God when life feels uncertain and finding the strength to keep moving becomes difficult. At its heart is a simple prayer for divine help, intervention and direction.
The song carries a deeply personal story for Kasope. He began writing it before the passing of his mother in 2019, with the chorus already written at the time. Over the six years that followed, he developed the verses and bridge while processing his loss and holding on to his faith.
Produced by Olaitan Dada, “Bámiṣé” transforms that personal journey into a prayer listeners can make their own. It encourages anyone facing grief, uncertainty or difficult circumstances to bring those struggles before God and ask for His help.
Kasope, whose full name is Kasopefoluwa Sote, blends contemporary gospel, soulful melodies, worship and personal storytelling in his music. He was also a founding member of gospel group Made In Heaven, contributing as a vocalist, songwriter and creative director.
As a solo artist, his catalogue includes songs such as “Nothing’s Impossible for You” and “Ògo.” Beyond music, his creative background includes illustration, animation and visual storytelling.
With “Bámiṣé,” Kasope offers an intimate worship song that reminds listeners that even when the right words are difficult to find, a simple prayer for God’s help can carry profound meaning.
