Can rap heal the sick?
Can Afrogospel open heaven’s windows?
This was the question asked during what looked like a podcast conversation with Afrogospel artist Greatman Takit and Drfoy
It sounds unusual until you remember that God has always used the unexpected. In the Bible, He used a shepherd’s harp to drive away a king’s torment. He made city walls crumble with a chorus of footsteps and trumpet blasts. He used fishermen to speak to kings.
So why not a drumbeat? Why not a verse over bass and strings?
When music is surrendered to God, the rhythm changes. It stops being just melody it becomes ministry. It becomes a spiritual tool that can carry hope, joy, and even healing.
During that podcast moment, Greatman not only answered the question with confidence he also revealed that he is fully convinced one specific track in his upcoming album will definitely heal people.
As he says: “If God can use mud to heal blind eyes, He can use a drumbeat and some rap lyrics to heal a broken soul.”
So maybe the question isn’t can rap be holy? Maybe the real question is are we ready to believe that God can use anything He touches?
