The Colour Blind concert took place on May 30, 2015, at the Big Tent of The Carpenter’s Church Port Harcourt. Right on the dot of time, the concert proper kicked off with a jazz session from the highly entertaining band. This was followed by an exhilarating praise session led by Soton Iselobhor, a surprise guest artiste for the concert, who had the crowd on their feet and dancing for the whole of her set. The coordinator of the Colour Blind event, Ogbemi Omayuku, doubling as the compere of the event, welcomed the crowd to the event and gave a stirring explanation of the Colour Blind vision which is all about the fact that God sees Christians as just that….Christians. With God there is no such thing as separating the body into tribes, sex, race, or even social strata. The major question being the age old question: “Is your name in the book of life?”

Judah Child brought the house down with his unique blend of gospel music, fusing R and B, Rock, and Rap music. Featuring the golden voiced Jason James, and the passionate Emeka, the audience was taken through a contemporary version of what Paul and Silas must have gone through before they praised and brought down an earthquake on their prison cells. The song is billed to be the first single on the upcoming debut album of Judah Child.

The Amazing Afy Douglas came onstage next with his usual blend of worship and praise songs ensuring that the concert tempo did not drop while he was onstage. With Afy leading a very spiritual set, the stage was set for the coming of the host minister for the night, Preye Omayuku, who ministered a blend of songs from her 2014 album (Promise keeper), as well as some new songs which will be featured on her next album which has been tentatively scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2016.

The continentally acclaimed Nathaniel Bassey later came onstage, accompanied on the keyboard by Emmanuel Uzozie (Juzzy Productions), and took the crowd on another journey in God’s presence with some of his more popular tracks such as “Imela” and “The book of life”.

Preye Omayuku came back on stage afterwards to round off the concert with a gritty, yet smooth and spiritual performance.

All in all, it was a  very interesting concert that did not lack in entertainment value, as well as spiritual value.

The audience left the venue already looking forward to next year’s edition of the Colour Blind music concert.
